I know an electric fiesta has been done before.
Was a red Mk2 using lead acid batteries donkeys years ago.

But.. Does anyone know if a modern conversion.
Or, if a modern conversion might be practical?

I'm not after technical specs. But just looking for peoples thoughts on the subject.

Jason.

I work in a BMW body shop and I've always thought about buying a written off i3 and transplanting into a classic car. There is a company that does it in London using Nissan leaf components but it a very pricey conversion.

Requirement for even a small range, the amount of batteries is the issue.

Mighty Car Mods had a wee '80's Daihatsu Mira (I think) that was electric and that had no back seats to fit all the batteries in it.

The simplest thing that I've seen to get something converted electric motor wise, is using a motor from like an electric forklift and then getting an adapter onto the gearbox.

Yeah.
Everything I've seen is either stupid pricey or the range is abysmal.

Ideally I want a 350mile range.
Enough to get me to Manchester and back on a single charge.

Only the high end Teslas can do that.
And they cost about as much as I paid for my house!
:(

Cheap house..

Jason.
