I thought I'd stick my head around the door, because after 12 years since I sold my XR2 I am back in a Fiesta!

The Focus had a laundry list of problems
It had the fault with the early powershift auto's so it shuddered and was always in the wrong gear
Radio would cut out if you turned it up anywhere near half way
Had a recall on the door latches I was jet to get sorted out
Cracked rear light cluster
Missing rear parcel shelf
Only six months left on the tyres

And then it started leaking coolant

I really couldn't be bothered to sink any money into it

Traded it in for a Fiesta, not a Mk1,can't survive out here without AC
2014 1.6 SE 120hp 4 cylinder
Yes I know it doesn't have a proper gear box
It doesn't have many toys, but I am rather taken with it :cool!:

:drive:

We all must be getting that way now, can't quite believe my son is four already. It's his birthday today. He likes 'Daddy's new red car'. I do want to get an ST at some stage, that was the plan originally, but not for a while. And the Focus caused me to play my hand. But the fiesta was available at good money so couldn't say no really

Yep! Time flies!
My eldest is 15!! In October! !

I remember posting pictures of her on here after she was born!

Still got the xr2 though!
Lol.
:)

My Mum and step Dad have a mk8? ( 2 or 3 year old ) fiesta. With the 1.0 Ecoboost engine.
They say it's good.
Just gutless on steep hills.

Jason.

He's back! Nice to have you back on the forum Gav. I've had a drive in one of the 125bhp 1 litre ecoboosts and it was quite impressed, nice space to be in and had enough poke when you needed it.

Welcome back.

Yea i've had one of them 1.0 ecoboosts for a while as a rental car. Was really impressed with it, it went really well and was great on fuel.

I Haven't owned a fiesta now (or a ford) for about 4 or 5 years

Its a strange car, it has no equipment....... but it has this charm. Gets down the road okay, makes a nice enough noise. But it's just fun. I've been eyeing up an ST for a while, and I hope at some stage that will happen. But I will need to teach the american how to change her own gears.

Rolls, the fiesta is our run around really, we have a huge Nissan Quest for the whole family trips. Size of a house, but still does 60 in 9 seconds. 3.5L V6..... 260hp and drinks like an Irishman

Gav is it time for a life crisis Mk1 purchase now that you've ticked off the wife and family boxes in life?

I can't drive the bloody fiesta now, I got rushed the the hospital over the weekend with acute appendicitis, could have killed me if I left it much longer. Took me out in like 2 hours, scary as hell. So I guess that means I'm definitely getting old

I'll be off work for two weeks, it's pretty weird sitting around at home as I'm usually so active. I can't drive, play with my kids, lift anything. For the first couple of days I couldn't stand up so that was pretty emasculating. Get a little better each day. My wife blames all the stress from work, so she's not impressed that they expect me to go back to crazy hours for physical inventory pretty much the day I go back. This is the second time my wife has had to see me almost get killed in 4 years...... this kinda crap never used to happen, Thanks for the kind words lads. :-)

My eldest was three months old, in the car with me. Some lunatic in a F150 pickup ran a red light, and tore the front of the car off. He really only just clipped me, so if I'd pulled into the junction a split second sooner I'd have been finished, and if not me, definitely Alex.

Scary thing is, this is America and you can turn right on a red. I could have, but I didn't. And it's that moment of hesitation that saved my life. And ironically it's not hesitating this time and getting straight to the ER similarly saved my bacon

This time my wife was by my bedside as my vitals were slipping away, and the first time she was driving behind us. So both times she got to see the whole thing.

But seriously thank f*ck for health insurance, I've racked up almost $40k in the hospital bills so far and there could be more yet, and this on top of the $50k my youngest son ran up in January just after he was born, as he had an infection.

Holy crap Gav!

Livin' the dream!
Lol. *gulp*

In all seriousness though.
I wish you a speedy recovery.
And by the sounds of it.. Take care on those roads!

Jason.

After not feeling the urge for a while, going back a few cars, the fiesta has given me the urge to mod

Couple of nice easy things, K&N panel filter because there aren't any street legal induction kits for non-turbo'd fiestas, strut brace and the mountune induction hose. Ideally I wan to do stuff that I could swap over to an ST at some point down the road
